Paper submission guidelines for Anglica Wratislaviensia

1. All papers should be submitted as Word for Windows doc or docx File.  Times New Roman 12 point type should be used in the main text. Long citations, notes and references should be written in 10 point type.
2. Article size: ca 4000 words, including notes, and the list of references.
3. Article should be preceded by an abstract from 200 to 300 words, written in Times New Roman 11 point type, single spaced, left justified.
4. Use 1.5 space throughout the main text of the article. Single spacing must be used in long citations, notes and references. The whole text must be left-justified.
5. The Author's name and affiliation should be written in the top left corner. Use Times New Roman 12 point type here.
6. The title should be written in bold capitals, centred.
7. Notes should appear at the end of the text, before references.
8. Sections of the article must be numbered sequentially. Their titles should be left justified, boldface.  In section titles capitalize only the first word and any proper names.
9. Page numbers should be given at the centre of the bottom margin.
10. For terminology use italics, do not underline.
11. Tables and diagrams must be numbered sequentially and each must have a title at the bottom of the picture/diagram.
12. References inside the text should look like this: (Brown 2000); (Brown 2000:13); when the same author is quoted frequently and only one work/paper by this author is quoted from, use only  the author's name  and page number in brackets e.g. (Brown, 27). However, when you mention this author for the first time in your text, full reference is necessary.
13. List of references should contain only those items that were mentioned inside the text.
14. The list should be arranged alphabetically and presented  in the following way:

Brown, H.D. 2000. Principles of Language Learning and Teaching. White Plains, NY: Pearson Education.

Article in a journal:

Schachter, J. 1974. "An error in error analysis". Language Learning 27. 205-214.

An article/chapter published in a book edited by other authors:

Walter, S. 2008. "The Language of Instruction Issue: Framing an Empirical Perspective". In: Spolsky,B. and F.M. Hult (eds.) The Handbook of Educational Linguistics. Malden, MA: Blackwell Publishing, 129-146.

An online reference, e.g.:

Schachter, J. 2005. "title". Online address. Date of access.

Publishing procedures for Anglica Wratislaviensia / Procedury publikacji dla Anglica Wratislaviensia

1. Paper submissions (składanie artykułów przez autorów)    15.11. of the year prior to publication (koniec listopada).
2. Editorial Board makes preliminary decisions about accepting papers for reviews and appoints reviewers (Rada Redakcyjna decyduje o wstępnym przyjęciu artykułów do recenzji i wyznacza recenzentów)     December of the year prior to publication (grudzień).
3. Papers are sent to reviewers; each article is sent to two reviewers who prepare blind reviews (artykuły są wysyłane do recenzentów; każdy artykuł opiniuje dwóch recenzentów, anonimowo)     January (styczeń).
4. Reviewers send in their opinions (recenzje są przesyłane do redakcji)     February (luty).
5. Authors introduce changes and improvements, if needed (Autorzy wprowadzają poprawki i ulepszenia)     February (luty).
6. Articles accepted for publication are given to language editors (artykuły przyjęte do druku są poprawiane przez edytorów językowych)     March (marzec).
7. Authors correct their papers (Autorzy poprawiają artykuły pod względem językowym)    April (kwiecień).
8. Articles are sent to the technical editor at the University Publisher's; technical details are discussed with the authors (artykuły są przesyłane do redaktora technicznego w Wydawnictwie Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego, który uzgadnia szczegóły techniczne publikacji z autorami)     April (kwiecień).
9. Final copies are mailed to authors for acceptance (korekta autorska)     May/June (maj/czerwiec).
10. The volume is printed (tom jest drukowany)     September/October (wrzesień/pażdziernik).
